Car VS. a House!

In the last week and a half, we here at Yarbrough Bros Towing have been called to two separate incidents involving a vehicle into a house collision/accident. The first recovery was off of Boyd & Sebastopol Rd in Santa Rosa where a import somehow lost control ran over a small tree & slid sideways into the porch & another tree causing some significant front end damage to the car. SRPD was on scene and authorized Yarbrough Bros Towing to recover the vehicle and then tow it to our facility for storage. The car was pretty much totaled what with the front air bags deploying the major front sheet metal damage and the suspension damage from the first tree and curb. There was no driver at the scene when I responded so we were not sure if anyone was hurt.
The second incident was out by the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club with a Buick glancing off of a garage at one house, going through the side fence and colliding with a carport and a parked Dodge truck in the neighbor's house. Again, the public agency was already on scene and authorized us to remove the vehicle. In this loss, luckily no one was hurt. The first recovery was interesting as I had to pull it partially backwards and then sideways to avoid further damage to the porch, driveway and landscaping. The Buick had to be pulled backward first, but could not come out the way it went in due to the garage, so after pulling it out of the carport and off of the Dodge a few feet, i then repositioned 7230, and proceeded to do a "K"strap side pull on the left front, and then just drove it down the driveway to my truck.
The important thing about both these recoveries beside the fact that no one was seriously injured is that both loss scenes had a Public Agency present at the time of our response. Not many people know that in order to proceed with recovering a vehicle that has gone onto private property and causing said property damage, the proper authorities must be contacted to adequately receive approval to remove the responsible vehicle as well as get permission from the property owner (of the land/property that was damaged) to facilitate the casualty recovery.
Anyways, funny how there were two of these types of calls within a week apart. Hope it is not a trend.
